This policy explains what information TeslaMotion ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and web app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep what we collect to the minimum needed to run the service.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Synced content: the favorites, watch history and playlists you choose to save to your account, including any playlist addresses or login details you enter for your own TV services.
- Subscription details: your plan and the customer and subscription identifiers from our payment processor. We don't receive or store your full card number.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, the time you were last active, and standard server logs such as IP address and browser type, used for security and troubleshooting.
- Preferences stored on your device: settings like your region and player view are saved in your browser, not on our servers.
How we use information
- To provide the service, keep you signed in, and sync your content across devices.
- To process Premium subscriptions and manage billing.
- To protect the service against abuse, fraud and security threats.
- To respond when you contact us.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
Third-party services
Some features rely on outside providers, which receive the information they need to work:
- Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions.
- YouTube (Google) provides video search and playback, subject to Google's privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap, Photon and OSRM provide maps, place search and routes for Navigate. Search terms and locations you enter are sent to them.
- Live TV and radio broadcasters deliver the streams you play. To make streams work in the car's browser, some are passed through our servers.
- Google Fonts and similar content networks deliver fonts, icons and game components.
Mirror
When you use Mirror, the links and messages you send between your phone and car pass through our servers only long enough to deliver them. Screen sharing connects your devices directly where possible.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page in the app, which permanently removes your account and synced content from our systems. Payment records may be kept by Stripe as required by law.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access controls to protect your information. No service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect your data.
Children
TeslaMotion accounts are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information. Contact us and we'll help.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
